St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community has always been recognized for its welcoming spirit. Our Mission Statement speaks of togetherness, unification, loving one another and welcoming all people. The practical recommendations set forth in the USCCB document, "Best Practices for Shared Parishes: So That They May All be One," and in union with our mission statement, the Multi-Cultural Council will review and become familiar with the purpose, methodology, developmental movements or indicators that fit our parish community.
The developmental movements are recognized as Welcoming, Belonging and Ownership. This council works to bring all cultures together so our parishioners can experience and eventually embrace the many cultures of our parish community. Not only is this a requirement of the Diocesan Synod, but a necessary movement to bring cultural flavor to the life of our parish.
If you are interested being a part of this council or would like more information, please contact Brenda Mendoza, 882-2130 ext. 113.
